Who we are

The Police Vetting Toolkit is run by The CCTV User Group Limited ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 03234865. You can contact us at vetting-support@cctvusergroup.com.

What the toolkit does

The toolkit tests a police force's demand for a higher level of Airwave vetting against the CCTV User Group's own Airwave Vetting Protocol, and produces a clarification letter, a position summary and an evidence checklist based on the information you provide. It is not legal advice, does not decide the vetting level that applies to your service, and is not a substitute for your own legal advice or your own risk assessment. You are responsible for checking the letter and summary against your own facts before you rely on or send them.

Access and applications

Access is by application. We review each application and may approve it as a CCTV User Group member (every output free), approve it as a non-member (a redacted result, with the full letter and position summary available for a one-off payment), or decline it. Each approved application receives a single-use access code that runs one assessment. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us and for keeping your access code confidential.

Payment

CCTV User Group members receive every output free. Non-members can run the assessment and unlock the full letter and position summary for a one-off payment of £250, taken by Stripe. This is a single purchase against one assessment, not a subscription. If you believe there has been a billing error, email us and we will look into it.

Acceptable use

Don't submit false or misleading information in an application or an assessment; don't attempt to disrupt or scrape the site beyond ordinary browsing; don't use an access code other than your own, or share the outputs it produces in a way that misrepresents who they were prepared for.

The national register

If you consent to it, an anonymised summary of your assessment may contribute to the national register of police force positions. No organisation name or contact detail is held on a register entry, and a police force with fewer than two reports shows no figures at all, so no single organisation can be identified from it.

Liability

We take reasonable care over the Airwave Vetting Protocol and the toolkit built on it, but the output is only as good as the information you give us, and it does not decide the vetting level that applies to your service. We are not liable for any loss arising from a decision made in reliance on the toolkit's output without your own legal advice or your own risk assessment.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't legally be excluded or limited.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. For minor changes we will simply update this page. For material changes, particularly to price, we will state the change clearly on this page and on the homepage before it takes effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
